Episode 13: Double Indemnity

Today, Jordan and Carlin jump into the cinema time machine and pull out the classic noir film, Double Indemnity. Carlin admits that he hasn’t seen a lot of older movies because he’s focused on films from his lifetime, but really enjoyed Double Indemnity. The guys discuss how films can be a window into older cultures and styles.

Episode 12: Equilibrium

This week, the guys break down a cult favorite and science fiction classic Equilibrium.  Fan of the show, Chris Ennis, suggested this particular film. They discuss the problems of prozium and how awesome gun kata is. They talk about the German influences in the film’s look and the religious overtones of the movie’s fascist government. As a bonus, tune in to hear Jordan sing his love of the Mona Lisa!

Episode 11: HP Lovecraft’s Re-Animator

This week, Carlin has control of the remote, and he’s picked HP Lovecraft’s Re-animator. The guys discuss the aesthetic appeal of practical effects versus CGI effects, the creativity brought on by budgetary restrictions, Frankenstein versus zombies, and comedy gold. Check it out!

Episode 10: Safe
