The guys cover the ins-and-outs of this epitome of the modern marvelous summer blockbuster, from acting strengths and cool special effects to plot holes and pacing problems. And the ratings may skew differently than you expected.

Entertaining movie, agreed the dialogue was great as expected. Plot holes aside, I think Chris Evans really became Captain America in this movie, moreso than in the first Captain America (and really in Winter Soldier). Felt the same way about the adoption line. Have to disagree with you on Iron Man 3 (most things), too many parts took me out of the experience. Man of Steel needed more of the people being in danger and Superman trying to save them, the big thing that I thought separated two basically identical sequences in two different movies. My biggest problem was with Hawkeye’s and Black Widow’s prescence in the final battle. I told this to a couple students, immediately after the money shot with all of them in a circle, those two should’ve been like “ok, we’re going to help evacuate people or try to close the gate and not battle with the creatures”. Yes I know BW does this eventually, but having BW take down an alien with a 9mm, undermines every other character there IMO (same with Hawkeye). The fact that the two of them can take down quite a few, means that the US Army could’ve done the exact same thing. I mean Hawkeye shoots Loki out of his chariot into a building. And I loved the “puny god” scene, but again, what do I have to fear from this guy now that Hulk ragdolled him without a thought? Hawkeye as a field commander of sorts, telling everyone where to go makes sense until I see Tony’s little radar. Not a bad movie though.
